Father's Day

One of Brock's brothers (Brian) lives close to us, and luckily we get to spend time with him and his wife!  So, we went out to dinner the Friday before Father's Day and before we left Brian, who is a total goof, walks up with a present wrapped for Brock.  Flattered, Brock opens the box to find a matching T-shirt ...

Brian and Tiffany's baby is due in July.  And Yes we made them wear the matching shirts to dinner :)

My Son, the Sunglasses Model

My Dad, the self proclaimed "Sunglass King" sells sunglasses all over southern Colorado and parts of Kansas and New Mexico.  You know those sunglasses stands in the gas stations ... Ya, he sells those.  He's retired but took on this job as something to do.  He just started to get the kids sunglasses and so he wanted to try them out on Preston and that's how we got the following pictures.  Preston did really well, he didn't try to rip them off or anything.  They were a little big so they fell off really easily.  So we're starting Preston off early in the Modeling world.

Hot Stuff!!

A little too big of Sunglasses, and a little too small of a nose.

Little ears just aren't ideal for holding up sunglasses

I'm too Sexy

Can we be done??

Are you guys serious?

5 Months Old!

Preston is 5 months today (6/17) and to be honest there were some days when I wasn't sure if we were ever going to make it to 5 months :) But we did, and here we are, and life is good! We celebrate Preston's 5 month old birthday yesterday by going shopping for new clothes for him. He has out grown a most of his clothes, so we have officially gone to the 12 month size. My Dad fondly refers to him as "The Load". He's growing big and strong, that's for sure. His little hands have quite the grip and he has this high pitched squeal that he loves to show off during church and other quite times. He loves to roll onto his side and just hang out there and look around. He's so much fun and we couldn't love the little/big guys more :)

His new favorite game is to roll onto his side in his play mat and pull the mat on top of him.
We call it the Baby Taco.

He holds up the side so he can see out of the baby taco.

He's my smiley button!

First Hair Cut!

Preston was born with tons of hair, and it has only kept growing.  The sides got a little rubbed off from sleeping, car seats, and playing, but the back and the top kept growing longer and longer.  My Mom said that he went from a "Banker Comb Over" hair style to a "Joseph Stalin" hair style.  It was true, so today we trimmed the little guys hair.  It went quite well, but he started to lose it because we might have done it a little too close to nap time.  Thank goodness my Mom has a steady hand :)

You can see the crazy long hair that was on top

Thanks to Jen and Brynn Zajaks for letting us use the Bumbo seat :)

He's loves getting his hair combed and so we made sure to do lots of combing in between the cutting

This was all the hair off the top of his head.

The final result ... my non-Banker, non-Dictator son, that was so ready for a nap!

Swimming!

I took Preston swimming today, it was 90+ degrees and a beautiful Colorado day.  Preston seemed to like it, no crying and he kicked a little bit.

I"m all ready with my towel and Winnie the Pooh Hat

MOM I CAN"T SEE FIX MY HAT!!

His shirt says "Captain Cutie"

Toys ...

Preston is starting to get into toys.  We quickly learned to double check the diaper bag to keep the ones that make noise at home during church (rookie mistake)!  He likes toys that he can grab with his bear paws (that kid has a serious grip) and loves to put pretty much everything in his mouth.  We had been buying or given toys, that he liked but we quickly realized that there are things much more entertaining than what you can buy at the store.  For example ... a wet rag can be delicious as well as fun.  We dog sat for my brother (probably the first and last time we'll be doing that because of the following 3 words ... blood dog poop) but Preston and Ginger the dog were fascinated by each other.  The latest toy that he absolutely loves it his sippy cup.  He actually drinks from it pretty well for a 4 1/2 month old and he love the handles on this sides.  When it's time to eat, the sippy cup must be within grabbing distance.  He doesn't do anything with it with the exception of gripping the handle, he just stares at it as he opens his mouth dutifully for food and all is right in the world.

Love the wet rags!

Ginger, the dog!  Who knew that a dog could have nervousness to the point of bloody poop!  I sure didn't

Notice that the sippy cup is orange and blue ... Denver Bronco colors ... That's right we're starting him off young.

Gottta keep that cup close!
